DOCUMENT CHECKLIST
For Business Short Stay Visa (Stay up to 3 months)

PLEASE NOTE: IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU PROVIDE ALL OF THE DOCUMENTS LISTED BELOW WHEN YOU LODGE YOUR TOURIST VISA APPLICATION. IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE ALL OF THE DOCUMENTS, YOUR APPLICATION MAY BE REFUSED.

Evidence of payment of the 456 VISA APPLICATION CHARGE, -instructions for payment are attached. Please note that as of 1 July 2007 applications for Business Short stay visas (Subclass 456) for (EU) European Nationals ARE FREE OF CHARGE

VISA QUESTIONNAIRE (the form can be downloaded here) – please ensure all questions are answered and the questionnaire is signed

A passport sized PHOTOGRAPH – less than one year old

A valid and signed PASSPORT, valid for your planned period of stay in Australia

A signed and completed 'DECLARATION AND STATEMENT REGARDING CHARACTER'– (for Serbia nationals and Former Yugoslav nationals born between 1930-1985 inclusive. The form can be downloaded here), AND your military book, military discharge papers and original documents relating to any injury and/or illness sustained during military service, and/or any injury or illness which has prevented you undertaking military service.

A clear itinerary or plan of your proposed business activities in Australia. This should include full names, addresses and contact details of persons in Australia you will be visiting, as well as indication as to where and when you plan to meet, and the business reason for the meeting. You should also include an original SIGNED letter of invitation from any persons you plan to visit in Australia for business purposes.

Evidence of your EMPLOYMENT STATUS AND INCOME. You must provide a letter from your employer confirming your length of employment, salary, position and whether they are supporting your business trip. This letter should also state how much paid leave you have been granted and whether your employer guarantees that you will have a job on your return. If you are self employed please provide evidence that your company is registered with the appropriate authorities and its business activity for the last 12 months, such as financial records, tax returns, or employment pension fund contributions for employees.

Evidence of your PROPERTY AND ASSETS. This should include ownership documents for property.

If you are meeting the costs of your travel and stay in Australia, EVIDENCE OF FUNDS that you have access to; OR, if a third party is meeting the costs, then a letter from them stating this

If you are 70 years of age or over you will be required to undergo medical examination to determine your fitness to travel. You will be advised how and where this examination is to be done once your application has been assessed.

If you are 70 years of age or over you must provide an evidence that you have HEALTH CARE COVER for the entire period of your stay in Australia

Please note: If your inviter, migration agent, family member in Australia or in your own country, or any third person is seeking information about your application, we must have written consent from you to liaise with that person
